Privacy Policy

ExaCalc collects no personal data. It has no accounts, no ads and no tracking, and it sends nothing anywhere by itself. This page says what that means, exactly.

Who is responsible

The app

• Nothing is collected. The app's privacy manifest declares no tracking, no tracking domains and no collected data, and the App Store label will read Data Not Collected.
• No accounts, ads or analytics. You never sign in, and the app contains no advertising or analytics code.
• History stays on your device. The calculations you work out are kept in the app's own storage on your device. The app sends them nowhere; a backup of your device, made by you, may include them. Deleting the app deletes them from the device.
• Settings stay on your device. The display settings you choose, such as Decimal Places, Thousands Separator and Fractions, are kept in the app's own preferences on your device. This is the one API of its kind the manifest names (UserDefaults).
• Crash and slowdown summaries stay on your device. The system can hand the app short diagnostics when it crashes or hangs. ExaCalc keeps a summary of the last ten on your device and sends none of them by itself.

Report a Problem

When you choose Report a Problem in Settings, the app writes one text and shows it to you whole. You can read and change it. Nothing leaves your device until you press Send, and then it goes by your own Mail to feedback@exacalc.app. The text holds:

• your own words;
• the app's version and build, your device's model, the system's version and build, your text size, and your language and region;
• the state of the calculator: its version, the layout, the calculation as typed and in Input, what Exact and Result show, the codes of any errors, the calculation the entry filed in History (with the time it was kept and each of its forms), and your display settings;
• the kept crash and slowdown summaries, if any.

Where Mail cannot send from your device, the sheet offers the share sheet instead; you choose where the same text goes. The report is not sent in any other way. Your mail provider handles the message as it does any mail, and it carries your address, which we see when it arrives.

We use a report only to find and fix the problem. If you write to us in any other way, we use your address and message only to answer. Ask us to delete a message and we will.

This website

This website sets no cookies, runs no scripts, uses no analytics and loads no fonts or files from other sites. It is served by Cloudflare, which, as any web host must, handles the address of your device to deliver the pages.

Your rights

You may ask what we hold of you (only what you wrote to us), ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and complain to your data protection authority; in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. Write to feedback@exacalc.app.

Changes

If the app or this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it.
